This can be any desired loading location. We also offer seaworthy packing of your goods.
The company was founded in 1985 by Jakob Weets.
That year he makes what is probably the most difficult decision of his life - he becomes self-employed and buys a truck.
"I was an employee and I undertook a restructuring of my company at the time. When everything was ready, the announcement came that I would only drive trucks again. So I said to myself: You can do something better with these experiences on your own, you just have to get started and don't be afraid. Being self-employed means being brave!"
Started as a one-man company, the Weets Group has developed into a medium-sized logistics service provider with currently around 500 employees. Today we work with a correspondingly wide range of services, including our branches in Hamburg, Soltau and Wolfsburg. The company's founder, Jakob Weets, is the managing director and shareholder and directs the company's fortunes.
Jakob Weets, who has himself driven trucks for many years, attaches great importance to having a personal and team-spirited approach with his employees. Weets builds on the direct employment of its employees, who work for the company on a daily basis and are the company’s most important asset. The training of young people is also a major objective for the company. Despite high-tech use, people also count at Weets, which is certainly a great success factor for the Weets Group.
In 2013, the Weets Group acquired the insolvent Besser GmbH. The name
OMAG, which is associated with a long, successful tradition, was
revived.
In 2018, Spedition Weets opened a handling center for combined rail/road transport in Soltau together with the Soltau Logistic Center (SLC) of the Tietje Group. Regular train services have been running there since June 2018. The facility is also open to third parties. Despite the proximity to the port of Hamburg, Jakob Weets decided to use rail. The reasons include environmental friendliness and the sometimes difficult access to the terminals in the Port of Hamburg by truck.
